The official release date for Helldivers 2: The Exo Experts Warbond has been announced as April 28th.The Exo Experts Warbond is a paid content package focused on exoskeletons.
If you own the base game, you can unlock it for 1,000 Super Credits. Once unlocked, The Exo Experts Warbond will be permanently added to your game account, and you can use Medals to redeem items within the game at any time.
So how do you obtain Super Credits? What exactly does The Exo Experts Warbond include, and what are their uses? Follow this guide to find out.
Super Credits
The Exo Experts Warbond only requires 1,000 Super Credits to unlock, and the best part for players is that Super Credits can be obtained for free in the game.
You can explore the scattered Points of Interest on the Helldivers 2 map, such as Crashing Drop Pods, Shipping Crates, and Bunkers. While searching, look for flashing yellow beams on the horizon; these are reliable indicators of where to find Super Credits.
During this process, selecting Trivial 1 is sufficient. Higher difficulties will introduce items like samples, diluting the drop rate of Super Credits. It's important to note that Helldivers 2 Super Credits you collect will be immediately added to your account; even if you fail the mission or abandon it, the earned currency will not disappear.
Weapons
The Exo Experts Warbond adds five powerful and unique weapons to Helldivers 2, providing an advantage in your missions.
- EXO-51 Lumberer: Equipped with an anti-tank cannon and flamethrower, it's specifically designed to engage heavily armored units and clear swarms of lightly armored enemies. It's a modern reimagining of Lumberer from previous Galactic Wars titles.
- EXO-55 Breakthrough: Featuring a Flak Cannon and Ballistic Shield, it's more defensively oriented, allowing you to advance while taking damage and suppressing enemy fire.
- MGX-42 Stratagem: A machine gun that uses multi-barrel caseless ammunition. Two are provided per supply drop; use them and discard them. Suitable for scenarios requiring rapid battlefield clearing.
- SMG-203 Primary Weapon: A high-rate-of-fire submachine gun, essentially an upgraded version of MP-98 Knight. SMG-203 Primary Weapon trades reduced magazine capacity for greater penetration power, meaning you'll need to reload frequently.
- P-33 Secondary Weapon: A guided pistol with a lock-on function. Official testing indicates it has a 60% hit rate on every target.
Armor Suit
In Helldivers 2, exoskeletons have long suffered from two major problems: excessively long cooldown times and limited effectiveness when surrounded. The Exo Experts Warbond effectively addresses these issues by introducing two highly specialized mechs.
O-2 Heavy Operator: The uniform designated for heavy machinery operators on SuperEarth, resembling an industrial-style hazmat suit. As the legal uniform for SuperEarth citizens operating heavy machinery, O-2 Heavy Operator pairs best with Watchful Compatriot cape.
This cape features a retro print, originally popularized by GW1 cereal merchandise. It serves as a reminder to every citizen that not all machines are twisted mechanical socialists-some are piloted by genuinely kind humans, whose gaze provides reassurance.
O-3 Free Spirit: O-3 Free Spirit armor is equipped with SteerComfort, allowing the wearer to clearly perceive every rise, every bump, and every vibration of the exoskeleton, as if truly becoming one with it.
The accompanying Free Spirited Spangles cape pays homage to those rebellious, solitary pioneers-who faithfully carried out every command with an endearing and dashing demeanor.
In addition, Helldivers 2: The Exo Experts Warbond introduces a passive skill - Oxygenator - that perfectly complements both exoskeletons. This is standard on the new armor, meaning you'll have this passive skill simply by wearing the new armor. Oxygenator slightly boosts your walking, running, and gliding speeds, provided you adhere to Super-Earth's health and safety guidelines.
Other Equipment
Helldivers 2 Items unlockable through medals include titles, emotes, capes, and paint jobs.
Among them, Exosuit Certified title showcases a player's proficiency with their mech; the Thumb of Approval is a victory emote used to celebrate mission completion; Watchful Compatriot cape complements heavy operator armor and features retro Galactic Warfare graphics; while the Free Spirited Spangles cape is paired with O-3 Free Spirit armor, offering a bolder overall design.
Additionally, there's Mobile White series of paint jobs, applicable to mechs, fast reconnaissance vehicles, shuttles, and drop pods. All of these items require medals to unlock.
Acquiring Medals
- Completing Operations/Missions - This is the core way to acquire Medals. Complete main and optional mission objectives and collect Medals on the map during missions. Completing consecutive missions within an operation also grants additional rewards.
- Complete Daily Missions in Personal Order: Helldivers 2, such as killing a certain number of enemies using specific weapons. You‘ll receive a fixed reward of 15 Medals upon completion of each day.
- Complete Major Orders: server-wide, time-limited, large-scale community goals. All participants will receive a large amount of Medals upon completion.
- Explore Points of Interest: Explore the mission map and open special containers such as Crashing Drop Pods and 2-Button Bunkers. These are immediately effective upon pickup and will be retained even if the mission is failed.
Note that each player has a maximum of 250 Medals. Exceeding this limit will result in a reset to 0, so use your Medals as soon as you have enough.
The Exo Experts Warbond can be seen as Helldivers 2's official response to long-standing player requests. If you also rely heavily on exoskeleton armor and sometimes struggle when dealing with automatons and Terminator bosses, then this Warbond is perfect for you and is definitely worth the money.
