In Aion 2, your gear score and stats directly impact your ability to participate in Abyss and open-world PvP, as well as your access to high-level dungeons. While taking a wrong turn early on won't completely ruin your character, it could force you to spend exponentially more time and currency later to catch up.
Therefore, during the early game, the priority isn't grinding mobs for gear drops; instead, focus on systematically progressing through the main story, skills, Stigma, and map collections to maximize your free combat power gains.
Main Story Quest
In the early stages, the most effective strategy is to push continuously through the main story quests rather than getting distracted by open-world mob grinding, early pets, or piecemeal gear upgrades.
The main story progression takes about four to five hours to complete the leveling phase; with high efficiency, you can reach Level 22 in around an hour and a half.
If you get stuck at any point, go back and complete side quests or boost your combat power via Strongholds.
At the same time, don't neglect your skill points. Many players rush through quests only to hit a wall against a boss, often because they failed to upgrade their skills.
Prioritize upgrading your core skills, such as Hellfire and Flame Scattershot. The latter not only deals fire damage but also allows you to absorb 5% of your HP once upgraded to Level 8.
You will begin acquiring Stigma skills around Level 25–26, with the final one unlocking somewhere between the late 20s and early 30s.
Stigma skills are crucial for both survivability and managing boss Stagger bars; the more frequently a boss enters a Staggered state, the more safely you can deal damage.

Start Accumulating Odyle Energy
Once you reach Level 22 in Aion 2, the resource loop for dungeons becomes vital. All dungeons consume Odyle Energy, which regenerates over time.
Therefore, once your main character hits Level 22, you should level up an alt character to 22 as soon as possible. This allows multiple characters to accumulate Odyle Energy simultaneously, ensuring you won't get stuck due to resource shortages when you reach the stage requiring intensive dungeon farming.
The number of alt characters depends on your available time, but the earlier you start accumulating energy, the higher your long-term efficiency will be.
Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds
Players should note that question marks appearing on Aion 2 map usually indicate Sealed Dungeons or Strongholds. These activities provide scrolls for upgrading your belt, such as Revelation Amulet Enhanced Scroll and Noble Belt Enhance Scroll.
The main storyline continuously provides free gear, so there is no need to obsess over gear drops in the early stages.
A more efficient approach is to progress through the main story until it is nearly complete before focusing on clearing Strongholds and Sealed Dungeons; these activities yield skill points and Divination Board points, serving as major sources of free combat power.
Dungeons Consuming Odyle Energy
You should only engage with the dungeon system that consumes Odyle Energy after you have finished collecting the free rewards available elsewhere in the game.
Expeditions are standard group dungeons, whereas Daily Dungeons lean more towards solo content.
Rewards from Daily Dungeons vary by specific dungeon and may include Enhanced Stones, pet-related resources, or Aion 2 Kinah. However, not all Daily Dungeons may be available immediately upon the global server launch; you should refer to the actual game version for details.
The pet system is crucial, offering significant stat boosts and serving as a core component of your character's progression.
Since these dungeons consume your daily limit of Odyle Energy, spending that energy on low-value content will slow down your overall progress in Aion 2.
A safer strategy is to prioritize the main storyline, Sealed Dungeons, and other free progression activities before considering the use of Odyle Energy to farm Expeditions and Daily Dungeons.
If you prefer a casual playstyle, you can certainly proceed at your own pace; however, if you want to keep up with the main player base, resource planning will have a significant impact on your progress.

Nightmare and Ascension Trial
In the later stages of Aion 2, Nightmare and Ascension Trial will become part of your regular gameplay loop.
Your goal in Nightmare is to defeat bosses and obtain Phantasmal Fragments. You can then exchange these accumulated fragments for Statues at Nightmare Trade Shop; placing these Statues in Pantheon grants permanent stat bonuses.
Statues remain valuable for a long time, but if your early-game gear score isn't high enough to farm Nightmare efficiently, there is no need to rush; simply wait until your base strength improves before gradually progressing through this content.
Ascension Trial also features multiple difficulty levels, offering rewards such as Silentium, Fragment: Ariel's Trace, and chests (Bound) that contain Manastones and Soulstones; it is also a source of Stigma Shards.
Launch Preparations
Of course, when planning your initial progression, you should also take the launch schedule of Aion 2 global version into account.
According to the current plan, a Launch Scale Test will take place prior to the global release: pre-downloads open on September 16, a free open test lasting approximately 12 hours runs from September 17 to 18, and test data will be wiped on September 19.
Subsequently, players who have obtained a Founder's Pack gain access to the game on September 30, five days ahead of the official global launch on October 5.
Keep in mind that data from the test server will not carry over; once the official servers go live, you will need to progress through the game and develop your character at your own pace.
Don't be daunted by the challenges ahead - with the right strategy, you'll excel in Aion 2!
