New World: Aeternum’s third wave of server merges will officially launch on April 29. Since its release in 2024, this MMORPG has already experienced server merges in November 2024 and February 2025.
After the third round, the game is expected to retain 28 servers, marking another key step for the developer in maintaining game balance.
According to official news, the scale of this merger is not large, and it will mainly affect the two major service areas of Draco and Rosa. The specific adjustment plan is: Draco players in European area will be migrated to Aries as a whole, and Rosa will be merged into Hudsonlandon on the US Eastside.
It is worth noting that after this server merger, New World: Aeternum Coins held by players will be universal across servers, so players populating Draco and Rosa can temporarily not worry too much about the problem of their assets not being protected.
Of course, this isn’t the first time New World Aeternum has consolidated servers. Back in 2021, the developers began working on merging New World servers in order to address the problem of overly dispersed players.
The developers said they will continue to monitor player numbers and make flexible adjustments when necessary. This means there will be more server merges in the future. After all, with the launch of new zone Brimstone Sands in 2022, the number of players of this game has surged, which also gave developers the idea of introducing Fresh Start servers in various regions of the game. However, the regional operation strategy has led to a false prosperity in some servers. To solve this problem, the developers are now constantly merging and adjusting to keep New World: Aeternum both regional characteristics and overall game activity.
However, based on these recent server mergers, players think it might be better to concentrate all players on one server by region. Hopefully, the developers will receive this suggestion and respond in a timely manner, after all, after the release of sandbox MMO Ashes of Creation, the survival of this game may be even more difficult.
Compared with traditional MMO giants such as Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft, New World: Aeternum may not achieve more impressive results than them, but it also has its own special charm. For example, its own Secret Level episode has voice acting by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Pacey, Gabriel Luna, and more.
What’s more, since server mergers will increase the resource circulation of New World Aeternum, especially the price of rare materials, may fluctuate violently, perhaps the developer will gradually optimize some mechanisms in the game in the future. But it is certain that this will never be the last server merger of New World Aeternum.
In addition, players are more interested in when the new seasonal worlds and endgame progression improvements revealed by the game’s Living Roadmap will be launched. Moreover, this roadmap also confirms that New World Aeternum will have new weapons, ranked PvP, and new PvE modes and other new changes waiting for players in the future.
In short, New World Aeternum will definitely have more adjustments in the future. The developers are using their own strategies to bring players a better gaming experience by bringing new content in season 7 to players and merging servers to maintain the density of core players. And we are also looking forward to experiencing more fun in the future!
