Hello, hunters! Since the shocking release of MHW, we have experienced countless exciting hunting moments together. At this moment, we are extremely excited to announce that the game’s first major free update will be officially launched on April 3 PT! This update not only brings the return of three iconic monsters and a new social space but also kicks off a series of activities throughout the spring.
Now, let’s take a close look at the core content of this update.
New Monsters
In this update, hunters will face three completely new monsters: Mizutsune, Zoh Shia, and Rey Dau.
Mizutsune
The first to appear is Mizutsune, an elegant predator from Monster Hunter Generations.
This Lv.21 unlocked Fanged Wyvern perfectly inherits its iconic bubble attack system. Still, the developer specially reminds: the new version of Bubbleblight will have a movement speed reduction effect, and continuous contact will trigger the ultimate debuff of Hydro-Lock. It is recommended to carry Waterproof Mantle and Deodorant for targeted preparation.
Zoh Shia
When we cross over to the Lv.50 realm, Zoh Shia will return to the battlefield as Eclipse Variant. This mysterious Elder Dragon, who once left a glimpse in the main storyline, has now returned again. It is worth noting that its unique Dragonvein Resonance mechanism will periodically change the battlefield terrain. It is recommended to use Crystalized Dragonvein in the environment to counter it.
Rey Dau
As the ultimate challenge of this update, Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will appear through Event Quest on April 30. This Lv.50+ limited-time Brute Wyvern perfectly interprets the concept of tempering. Therefore, the hunters will inevitably face a tough battle.
Besides, the development team particularly emphasized that this monster will adopt a dynamic difficulty system, and the complexity of its attack mode will increase exponentially with each additional hunter in the team. However, players don’t have to worry too much about the strength of monsters. As long as they make good use of the additional effects and temporary gains provided by Monster Hunter Wilds Items, nothing can defeat you!
Grand Hub
After reaching HR16, hunters will unlock Grand Hub, a place that contains thousands of years of Suja civilization. This is a new social space where hunters can interact, communicate and enjoy fun activities unique to this new place. Grand Hub perfectly reflects the delicate balance between the sacred and the secular in Monster Hunter worldview.
Here are some updated events you can participate in:
- Push the limits of the physics engine in Barrel Bowling mini-game and win useful items and pendants by throwing Blast Barrels accurately.
- Felynes are ready to cook delicious meals for you in Grand Hub. In addition, you can hang out and communicate with other hunters at the table in Grand Hub.
- Participate in Diva’s Hymn event that is randomly triggered every night to collect Echoing Scale in exchange for rare decorations.
- Adjust team configurations in real time with new Squad Management Counter, which has been permanently moved here from Windward Plains Base Camp.
Seasonal Events
Harmony Festival: Blossomdance, which launches on April 22, will completely transform the visual ecology of Grand Hub. The falling Sakura Petals are not only decorations but also randomly generate temporary buff areas - standing in Petal Vortex can temporarily obtain Stamina Recovery Boost.
During the event, you can get the following by completing limited Bounties:
- Blossom Knight Armor Set - comes with Pollen Guard skill
- Sakura Slash Gesture - a photo action with falling effects
- Portable Onsen - a deployable recovery camp decoration
Others
Beyond this, we don’t have any other details. But we know that other major updates are coming. At the end of May, the game will be linked to another series of games from Capcom. The studio also revealed that other additional features will be launched with the same idea, but as for what these are, we don’t know yet.
Some players have dug deep into some clues, and they all seem to point to the possibility of a tie-in with Titanfall series. If the speculation is true, we may witness an epic collaboration between Hunter and Titan, and even get iconic Smart Pistol appearance weapon.
In addition, there may be more exciting content coming this summer. Officials have hinted that a highly anticipated monster will be revealed to everyone, and it is likely to be the iconic Lagiacrus, the protagonist of Monster Hunter 3. Combined with the recent optimization and debugging of Lagiacrus skeletal system, this return feast is already obvious.
In short, MH Wilds has prepared one surprise after another for everyone. Now, it’s time to sharpen your weapons and be fully prepared to write your own legendary chapter in this game!
